Shawn Hogan
My name is Michael Shawn Hogan. I have been a volunteer firefighter for over 14 years. My time started in Angleton, Texas as a Junior Firefighter when I was in high school and then joined and stayed with Angleton until 1994 when I left for college. During my time at Angleton, I trained and helped with community education on fire safety. I also completed my EMR certificate. During college, I went off to the US Air force where I spent 15 years working as a mechanic. However, during my time in the USAF, I volunteered with Pinewood Fire Department for 8 1/2 years. While there I continued training and received my EMT-B and went on to train for EMT-I but got orders overseas to Japan. Once I got back to the USA, I was in Las Vegas for 4 years. After my service was done I made it back to Angleton. As life came full circle, I have returned back to the fire service with Angleton, and once again serving my community as a first responder to help my neighbors when the calls come. John 15:13 states it best for our volunteers and first responders, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”
